Home Arizona's National History Day Contests
National History Day in Arizona is sponsored by the Arizona State Archives, a division of the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records.

The specific reason for the Archives' support is to encourage Arizona students in grades 6-12 to learn about primary research--to know that knowledge comes from some place and to learn the ways to find original information.

The best qualified students from each region are selected to attend the State Finals in April. They may be recognized with special awards which offer a cash prize.

Ambitious, clever 6-12th grade Arizona students who work very hard may be rewarded with the right to participate in the national finals in Washington D.C. in June and to represent our state.

ALL National History Day students are winners--learning more about interesting topics, how to do original research, and gaining thinking skills.

NHD competitors are all types of students from a variety of educational institutions.

Entries which celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of our state, our nation and our world are encouraged.
